The School District of Cape Girardeau is seeking a part-time day AEL Instructor for Adult Education in Advance, MO for the 2017-2018 academic year. Hours: 16 hours/week.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- AEL teacher certification, or ability to complete certification if hired
- Experience working with diverse populations with varying beliefs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage a multi-level adult classroom
- Ability to guide students through MERS/Goodwill Scholars @ Work program
- Effective oral and written skills
- Comfortable with the use of technology in the classroom
- Working knowledge of Google docs, MS Word, Excel and Power Point
Preferred Qualifications:
- Adult Education or secondary education teaching experience with at risk students
- Willingness to interact with community at large in promoting program
This position is for four days per week during school year and may include four weeks of summer school. Compensation is in accordance with AEL teacher salaries. This position is dependent upon grant and other funding available. |
