The School District of Cape Girardeau is seeking a part-time day AEL instructor for the Adult Education in Cape Girardeau Adult Learning Center for the 2018-2019 academic year. Hours: 16 hours/week. Some evenings may be required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher with teaching experience
• AEL teacher's certification, or ability to complete when hired
• Experience working with diverse populations with varying beliefs
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage a multi-level adult classroom
• Effective oral and written skills
• Comfortable with use of technology in classroom
• Working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Word, Excel and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications:

• Adult Education or secondary teaching experience with at risk students
• Willingness to interact with community at large in promoting program

This position is for four days per week (days may vary at times) during school year and may include four weeks summer school.

Compensation is accordance with AEL grant salary schedule. This position is dependent upon grant and other funding available.
