The School District of Cape Girardeau is seeking a dedicated Math teacher for Central Senior High School for the 2023-24 academic year.

 

The Math teacher is responsible for facilitating the learning of the mathematics curriculum for every student by creating a stimulating learning environment in which every child is expected to reach their own academic potential.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Math Education
• Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate (Secondary Math 9-12 or Middle School Math 5-9)
• Strong mathematical content knowledge
• Pedagogical knowledge that accentuates conceptual knowledge, and critical and reflective thinking
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Skilled in human relations, leadership, and conflict management
• Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students
• A high ability to work collaboratively with teams and nurture relationships
• An aptitude for mentoring and fostering teacher-student relationships
• Demonstrated skills in computer word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
• Proficient computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
